CORDILLERA

In 1980, in the Andean mountains, Antonio, a muleteer and sorcerer, drags two chained trunks containing the remains of Estela, the young woman he forced into marriage and murdered. He is pursued by Joaquín, a wandering spirit and Estela's true love, carrying a broken tiple and a wide-brimmed hat. Through flashbacks, the echoes of violence sustained by machismo and folk sorcery emerge. Their battle culminates when Antonio casts his final spell and throws himself into the abyss.
